Identity Verification
We use multi-layer verification processes to ensure the authenticity of our users:

Meeting in person
Buyers and sellers meet to inspect and hand over the item. For your safety:
- Meet in a busy public place in daylight, such as a mall, a bank, or a fuel station with people around.
- If the item is large and you have to collect it at a home, go with someone else.
- Do not pay the seller cash or send them money on the side. Payment stays with Sell It Off until the buyer gives the pickup code.
- Inspect the item before the pickup code is given. If something feels wrong, leave and contact support.
- Do not share your home address, bank details, or other personal information just to meet.
Sell It Off does not take responsibility for your personal safety when you meet. You choose the place and you attend at your own risk. We are not liable for injury, loss, or harm that happens at a meetup. The same point is in our Terms of Service and in FAQs.
Reporting Issues
If you encounter any suspicious activity or have concerns about a transaction:
- Use the "Report" button on any listing or user profile
- Contact our support team immediately
- Provide any relevant details or evidence
- Our team will investigate and take appropriate action
